New furnace ignitor won't ignite

My furnace comes on when I turn on the heat but ignitor won't glow or come on. I just installed a new ignitor and removed flame sensor and cleaned as it had some rust on it. Not sure what is wrong but it had been working fine. Could the flame señsor be bad and that is why the new ignitor won't wvem glow? After about 3 attempts the furnace turns off. I hear some clicks and noise like gas is being releasd but nothing happens. My furnace is a goodman. Gmpn060-3. Any Advice or thoughts would be appreciated Thanks
