From the research I have done, I think I can replace the two run capacitors in my heat pump with a dual capacitor with equivalent ratings. My problem is understanding where to place the wires.
Currently, on the fan run cap, there are two wires on one side, one going to the fan motor, other going to the circuit board. On the other side is a wire going to the fan motor.
On the compressor cap there is one wire on each side, one wire goes to the compressor, one wire goes to the compressor contactor.
Rating on the fan cap is 5/370. Rating on compressor cap is 45/440. I have ordered a dual 45/5 440 as a replacement.
My question is where would I place each of the wires? What goes to common, what goes to fan and what goes to herm?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
