Playing with a new toy.

I recently bought a UEI HA1 hermetic compressor analyzer.

I also came across a stubborn compressor. When I ohm the compressor, I get:

C-R 1.2
C-S 1.6
R-S 4.5

I already condemned it and replaced it.

I know the numbers are supposed to add up and I can't get the HA1 to turn it over. What am I forgetting?

Is the math too bad in this case?

Could these numbers be real borderline?

Is there a mechanical reason this compressor won't start?
