I have a 6 door beer cooler with a 4416 BTU 4 fan evap made by Larkin and a Copeland condensing unit on R-22. The call was popping breakers. When I got there the tech before me took it all apart and had no clue how to put it back together. So off I went, once I got it back together it did not pop breakers. I let it run for 2 or 3 min and the head pressure shot way up . . to 500 plus! I recovered freon until I saw bubble is the site glass, that did bring the head pressure down to 340 still high for a 80 degree day, but the condenser is on the roof and the temp was 108 on the roof. I cleaned the coils and got it down to 265. So then I add R-22 to clear the site glass. Only after about .25 pound the head went to 329. High but not outrages for a 108 degree roof. The compressor was puller 10 amps and thought it was at least working a little. The cooler only got down to 50 degrees over night. I think it has to be low on freon since the all the bubbles in the site glass, but the head goes so freaking high when I add R-22 The whole time the suction stayed about 57.5 Vsat of about 32 degress. Any clues how to get the head pressure down so I can clear the site glass. I have cleaned the coils twice now.
thanks
