Any safe hooks to lift up hot grill rack?

Hey guys whenever I need to reload coals when BBQing, I always use anything I can find to lift up the rack on which you place the meat but I need something safe mainly because sometimes I need to reload coals while there is meat on the rack and when lifting the rack this keeps tilting back and forth, any ideas please?
