I am finally getting bids for my rebuild.
The guy I felt most comfortable with uses American Standard products
Two AS AccuComfort Platinum 18 heat pumps w/ TAM8 Air handlers and AS hydrocoils. One 5T w/AS damper system and 1 2T ... both using Plartinum ZV thermostats. All metal duct work .. Viessman 222 boiler (propane) for coils and some radiant.
American Standard is Trane .. correct?
Originally, I thought it was 4T (main house) and 2T (addition) -- so I suggested zoning to reduce some of the costs vs going three units (two for main house). Proposal came through with 5T -- I have heard issues with zoning 5t units.
I'm sure the extra ton on the unit is for heating .. as I want to minimize my propane use in PA.
I really only familiar with zoning 3 tom Carrier infinities -- I have done two house with Carrier. How does the AS zone compare .. and with a 5 ton.
