92 Mitsubishi expo lrv slips in 3rd gear

i have a 92 expo lrv 1.8 with a auto transmission F3A22 that recently started slipping , i have used transmission from a 95 expo 2.4 F3A21 that is good, can i put that on my 92 and will it fit and work good?
