Hi all,
I was reviewed by a home inspector and told that a new subfloor joist and subfloor support needs to be installed, due to previous moisture damage.
There is no floor sagging.
Two questions:
1. Since there is no sagging, I understand that I can just sister a new joist against the existing one, and it doesnt need to span the entire length. is that true? So this means it doesnt need to rest (either side) on a post, it just needs to be fastened to the old one?
2. I can't find what "subfloor support" means. I can go back to the inspector and ask him what that means, but figured maybe someone here would know and reply sooner.
thanks a lot in advance for any advice
Scott
